Special Education

Academy 2000

Academy 2000 program was established to provide an education for students with various learning exceptionalities. It is designed for a student who demonstrates average or above average intelligence and who have no severe physical or emotional handicaps. Academy 2000 tailors instruction for children who may experience academic deficits in one or more of the following areas: reading, mathematics, and /or writing.

Our program offers a comprehensive elementary and middle school curriculum for students in grades 2nd - 8th grade in a self- contained setting with a low teacher to student ratio as well as a teacher’s assistant. Academy 2000 students can also participate in sports and extra-curricular activities.

Our educators are state certified in special education and our assistants receive on-going training in order to meet the needs of the students we serve. Our classrooms feature some of the most up to date technological resources available including Promethean Boards and many other hands-on resources that keep students motivated and excited to learn.

Our program is Christ- centered and fosters the teachings of Jesus Christ. Students gain both academic and personal knowledge of their faith while preparing for liturgies, daily religious studies and prayer, Mass Attendance, and sacramental preparation.
